During this interactive workshop learn how to apply the tenets and principles of Applied Improvisation to support your wellbeing!  Explore how Applied Improv can support four core SEL competencies: self-awareness, relationship skills, social awareness, and self-management. Activities will include Improv games to teach the Yes, And principle, active listening, teamwork, mindfulness, creativity, and play and how they support educator wellbeing.

At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify and describe key adult social emotional learning (SEL) competencies and how they relate to personal wellbeing, including increased flexibility, self-care in and outside the workplace, and the value of joy and play to increase positive relationships with self and others.

  2. Discuss and apply the tenets and principles of applied improvisation (Yes, And, active listening, teamwork, mindfulness, creativity, play) and describe how they relate and support SEL practice for educators/students/leadership?

  3. Participate in applied improvisation activities that demonstrate four SEL competencies: self-awareness, relationship skills, social awareness, and self-management. 


This will be a virtual series held over Zoom. Due to the sensitive nature of the information being shared during activities, sessions will not be recorded for later viewing.
